What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Contrary to popular belief Hypnotherapy isn’t about losing control or performing silly tricks – it's about gaining a deeper understanding of your mind. By combining hypnosis and cognitive behavioural therapy you are able to use your mind to your advantage and achieve long lasting positive change.
During a session, you'll generally enter a state of focused attention and even relaxation, where you are more open to positive suggestions and therapeutic techniques. It’s a safe, effective way to address various issues and people experience hypnosis in a range of different ways. Some people will feel as though they are in a daydream, others will be more alert and aware. There's no 'right' way to experience hypnosis and you will only accept suggestions and ideas that are beneficial to you and your life.
Effective CBH, like any therapeutic treatment, is built on a strong, collaborative relationship between therapist and client. First we’ll gain a deep understanding of your unique challenges and how they’re currently impacting your life. Then we’ll seek to understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Using cognitive behavioural approaches and hypnosis you’ll develop greater awareness of yourself which will help you regain control and make meaningful, lasting changes in your life. You will also usually receive a hypnosis audio and out of session exercises to support your continued success.
You can use Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy for a range of issues including anxiety, fears and phobias, smoking cessation, habit change, sleeping issues, stress, business and sports performance success, confidence and self esteem.
What is EFT?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a powerful practice that combines the somatic and cognitive together.
Also referred to as 'tapping' as it uses the physical act of stimulating acupressure points at the same time as combining elements of psychotherapy such as exposure and cognitive therapy. A true mind-body approach that has ever increasing evidence that demonstrates its positive effects on brain activity very rapidly.
EFT helps clients to 'tap into' an experience or issue in order to gain clarity and resolution. Aiming to reduce or clear negative emotions, feelings or stress from the body. This supports making physical or emotional changes, shifting limiting beliefs, resolving past trauma to gain relief, relaxation and promote healing.
You can use EFT for a range of issues and the method can be done on your own or with the guidance of a practitioner. This brief, self-applied stress reduction technique has been proven in effectiveness for a wide range of issues including Anxiety, Low mood, Cravings, Fears, Phobias, Pain, Stress, Traumatic memories, Guilt and more.
